Replace engine venting pipe > < Cylinder Head, Remove and Install (Z16XEP)

Attaching Parts – Cylinder Head, Remove and Install (Z16XEP)

  Remove

1.   Detach camshaft sprockets
•   Counterhold camshafts on the camshaft hexagon
•   Unscrew 2x bolts
2.   Detach rear toothed belt cover (1)
•   Unclip wiring harness
•   Unscrew 4x bolts (2)
•   Take out camshaft sensor by turning it

3.   Detach intake manifold (2) from cylinder head
•   Unscrew 5x bolts (1) and (3)
•   Remove gasket

4.   Disconnect wiring harness plug, PDA system vacuum unit (1)
Object Number: 2412852 Size: DEFAULT


5.   Disconnect wiring harness plug, injectors (1)
Object Number: 2412851 Size: DEFAULT


6.   Detach intake manifold flange (1)
•   Unscrew 8x bolts (3)
•   Unscrew 2x nuts (2)
•   Remove gasket
Object Number: 2412805 Size: DEFAULT


7.   Detach exhaust gas recirculation metal tube (2)
•   Unscrew 4x bolt (1) and (3)
Object Number: 2412804 Size: DEFAULT


8.   Detach coolant flange (3)
•   Detach cable bracket (1)
– Unscrew 2x bolts (2)
•   Unscrew 4x bolts (4) and (5)
Object Number: 2412808 Size: DEFAULT


9.   Clean sealing surface
10.   Detach oil pressure switch

  Install

11.   Attach oil pressure switch 20 Nm
•   Use new seal ring
12.   Fit coolant flange
•   Attach coolant flange to cylinder head with new gasket
– Tighten 4x bolt 8 Nm
13.   Attach exhaust gas recirculation metal tube
•   Tighten 4x bolt 10 Nm
14.   Attach intake manifold flange
•   Use new gasket
•   Tighten 8x bolt 20 Nm
•   Tighten 2x nut 20 Nm
•   Connect wiring harness plug, injectors
•   Connect wiring harness plug, PDA system vacuum unit
15.   Attach intake manifold to cylinder head
•   Replace gasket
•   Tighten 5x bolt 8 Nm
16.   Replace rear toothed belt cover
•   Insert camshaft sensor
•   Tighten 4x bolt 6 Nm
•   Clip in wiring harness
17.   Attach camshaft sprockets
Note:   Observe correct fitting position, observe alignment
•   Counterhold camshafts on the camshaft hexagon
•   Tighten 2x bolt 50 Nm + 60° + 15°
