Replace alternator

Spezialwerkzeugliste:
  • KM-6151

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet
2.   Disconnect battery
•   Detach earth connection
– Slacken nut
3.   Remove engine cover.
4.   Remove air cleaner housing
5.   Raise vehicle by its full height
6.   Remove lower engine compartment cover (2)
•   Unscrew 4x bolts (1)
•   Remove 2x body-bound rivets (3)

7.   Remove ribbed V-belt
•   Mark direction of rotation of ribbed V-belt
•   Tension the ribbed V-belt tensioner using KM-6151 in the direction of the arrow
– Remove ribbed-V-belt

8.   Disconnect alternator wiring harness
•   Release and unplug wiring harness plug (2)
•   Detach earth cable
– Unscrew nut (1)

9.   Loosen alternator from below
•   Unscrew 2x bolts (1)

10.   Lower vehicle by its full height
11.   Remove alternator
•   Unscrew 2x bolts (1)
•   Lift alternator up and off
– Press coolant hose to one side

  Install

12.   Install alternator
•   Screw in 2x bolts
Note:   Don not tighten yet.
13.   Raise vehicle by its full height
14.   Attach alternator at bottom
•   Tighten 2x bolt 21 Nm
15.   Connect alternator wiring harness
•   Install earth cable
– Tighten nut
•   Connect and lock wiring harness plug
16.   Insert ribbed V-belt
•   Position ribbed V-belt
Note:   Note direction of rotation and installation position of ribbed V-belt.
•   Tension the ribbed V-belt tensioner using KM-6151 in the direction of the arrow
17.   Install lower engine compartment cover
•   Tighten 4x bolts
•   Install 2x body-bound rivets
18.   Lower vehicle by its full height
19.   Attach alternator at top
•   Tighten 2x bolt 21 Nm
20.   Install air cleaner housing LUREF_1.gif
21.   Install engine cover
22.   Connect battery
•   Attach earth connection
– Tighten nut
23.   Program volatile memories
24.   Close bonnet
