Engine Control Unit, Remove and Install

  Remove

1.   When replacing the engine control module:
•   Establish communication
– Connect TECH2
2.   Open bonnet
3.   Detach front part of right wheelhouse panelling
•   Unscrew 2x bolts
•   Remove 3x body-bound rivets
4.   Remove engine control unit
Note:   The security code must be reset using TECH 2 when replacing or interchanging the engine control module (before removal)
•   Disconnect 2x wiring harness plugs (2)
•   Unscrew 4x nuts (1)

  Install

5.   Install engine control unit
•   Tighten 4x new nuts
•   Connect 2x wiring harness plugs
6.   Attach front part of right wheelhouse panelling
•   Install 3x body-bound rivets
•   Tighten 2x bolts
7.   When replacing the engine control module:
•   Stop communication
– Remove TECH2
8.   Close bonnet
