The following test steps may or may not be helpful, they are only a proposal.

Diagnostic Trouble Codes

  • Check for trouble codes with status INTERMITTENT or NOT PRESENT. If a trouble code is stored this may indicate the circuit which has the intermittent condition.
  • Use the following table to obtain the concerned functional group and perform the following additional test steps, while performing the troubleshooting in the C-x tables.
  • Move the related connectors, wiring harness and components in order to find the failure. Switch on all electric consumers by turns, because this can cause an electromagnetic interference in a circuit. Use the TECH 31/32 or an oscilloscope to observe the wiring harness for disturbances. Operate the system under different conditions over a considerable time.

  • Compare the SPS software number in the control unit with the version on TIS 2000 . If there is a newer version on TIS 2000 , perform the SPS programming.
