Camshaft Front Oil Seal Replacement

Special Tools

•  EN-656   Oil Seal Installer
•  EN-45000   Seal Remover

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the camshaft timing pulley. Refer to Camshaft Timing Pulley Replacement .

Caution: Clean the crankshaft sealing surface with a clean, lint-free towel. Inspect lead-in edge of crankshaft for burrs/sharp edges that could damage the rear main oil seal. Remove burrs/sharp edges with crocus cloth before proceeding.

2. Remove the camshaft front oil seal (1) from the camshaft (2), using the EN-45000   remover .

Installation Procedure

Caution: Clean the crankshaft sealing surface with a clean, lint-free towel. Inspect lead-in edge of crankshaft for burrs/sharp edges that could damage the rear main oil seal. Remove burrs/sharp edges with crocus cloth before proceeding.

1. Install the camshaft front oil seal, using the EN-656   Installer (1).
2. Install the camshaft timing pulley. Refer to Camshaft Timing Pulley Replacement .
