Engine Oil Level Indicator Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure
4. |
Disconnect the engine oil
level indicator switch wiring harness plug (1) from the engine oil
level indicator switch connector (2). |
5. |
Remove the engine oil level
indicator switch connector retainer (3). |
6. |
Remove the 15 lower oil pan
bolts (2). |
7. |
Remove the lower oil sump (1),
using the EN-37228 separation tool . |
8. |
Remove the 3 engine oil level
sensor bracket bolts (1). |
9. |
Remove the engine oil level
sensor along with the engine oil level sensor bracket (2).

10. |
Loosen the 2 engine oil level
sensor nuts (1). |
11. |
Remove the engine oil level
sensor (2) from the engine oil level sensor bracket (3).

12. |
Remove the old seal ring (2)
from the sensor (1). |
Installation Procedure
1. |
Install a NEW seal ring (2) to
the engine oil level sensor (1). |
2. |
Install the engine oil level
sensor (2) to the engine oil level sensor bracket (3). |
3. |
Install the 2 engine oil level
sensor nuts (1) and tighten to 8 N·m (71 lb
in) . |
4. |
Install the engine oil level
sensor in compound with the engine oil level sensor bracket (2) to
the engine. |
5. |
Install the 3 engine oil level
sensor bracket bolts (1) and tighten to 24 N·m (18
lb ft) . |
6. |
Clean the sealing
surfaces. |

Note: Refer to
electronic parts catalogue to find a suitable sealing compound.

7. |
Apply sealing compound to the
oil pan. |
8. |
Install the lower oil pan
(1). |
9. |
Install the 15 lower oil pan
bolts (2) and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in)
. |
10. |
Disconnect the engine oil
level indicator switch wiring harness plug (1) from the engine oil
level indicator switch connector (2). |
11. |
Remove the engine oil level
indicator switch connector retainer (3). |
