Timing Belt Front Cover Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the camshaft position sensor. Refer to Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement .
2. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
3. Remove the engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Right Side .

4. Remove the protecting cover nut (1).
5. Remove the protecting cover washer (2).
6. Remove the protecting cover bolt (4).
7. Remove the protecting cover (3).

8. Remove the 5 short timing belt front cover bolts (2).
9. Remove the 3 long timing belt front cover bolts (3).
10. Remove the timing belt front cover (1).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the timing belt front cover (1).
2. Loosely install the 3 long timing belt front cover bolts (3).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution .

3. Install the 5 short timing belt front cover bolts (2) and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in) .
4. Tighten the 3 long timing belt front cover bolts (3) to 10 N·m (89 lb in) .

5. Install the protecting cover (3).
6. Install the protecting cover bolt (4) and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in) .
7. Install the protecting cover washer (2).
8. Install the protecting cover nut (1) and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in) .
9. Install the engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Right Side .
10. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
11. Install the camshaft position sensor. Refer to Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement .
