Remove and install exhaust gas recirculation valve (Z 12 XE, Z 12 XEP, Z 14 XEP)

  Remove

3.   Detach wiring harness •   Disconnect 2 wiring harness plugs – Ignition module (1) and exhaust gas recirculation valve (2) •   Unclip wiring harness from bracket •   Set wiring harness to one side

4.   Detach coolant hose (1) from exhaust gas recirculation valve •   Release clamp 5.   Detach exhaust gas recirculation pipe (2) from exhaust gas recirculation valve •   Unscrew 2 bolts 6.   Detach exhaust gas recirculation valve from cylinder head •   Unscrew 4 bolts (arrows)

  Install

8.   Attach exhaust gas recirculation valve to cylinder head •   Use new gasket •   Tighten 4 bolts (arrows) 8 Nm 9.   Attach exhaust gas recirculation pipe (2) to exhaust gas recirculation valve •   Use new gasket •   Tighten 2 bolts 10 Nm 10.   Attach coolant hose (1) to exhaust gas recirculation valve •   Fasten clamp

11.   Attach wiring harness •   Connect 2 wiring harness plugs – Exhaust gas recirculation valve (2) and ignition module (1) •   Attach wiring harness 12.   Close coolant drain bolt 13.   Fill and bleed cooling system See operation "Filling and bleeding cooling system (Z 12 XE, Z 12 XEP, Z 14 XEP)" 14.   Check the cooling system for leaks See operation "J635100 Check cooling system for leaks (Z 12 XE, Z 12 XEP, Z 14 XEP)"
