Differential gear cover gasket, replace (F13/F13
MTA/F17/F17 new/F17+/F17+ MTA)
Remove
1. |
Remove lower engine cover
Note: If present.
|

Release shift guide (3) upwards from bracket (1)
• |
Detach retaining clamp (2).
Note: Upper bracket
bolt - rear torque support (4) is now accessible.

3. |
Detach rear torque support bracket from transmission
|
4. |
Swivel rear torque support away from transmission
• |
Undo rear torque support bolt (5) from front axle body
Note: Differential gear
cover bolts are now accessible.
Note: For a better
illustration, the exhaust system is removed.

Detach catch hooks (1)
|
|
|
6. |
Place collecting pan underneath.
|
7. |
Remove differential gear cover
• |
10 bolts
Note: Release
differential gear cover by tapping gently with a rubber mallet if
necessary. Transmission fluid runs out.
|

8. |
Remove gasket for differential gear cover
|
|
|
Install
9. |
Clean sealing surfaces
|
10. |
Fit differential gear cover to transmission with new gasket
• |
Stick gasket to differential gear cover with grease
|
• |
Screw down the cover
– |
Sheet metal version 30 Nm
|
|
|
11. |
Attach rear torque support bracket to transmission with new
bolts
• |
Tighten bolts 80 Nm + 45° –
60°
|
|
12. |
Attach rear torque support to front axle unit
|
13. |
Attach shift guide to bracket
• |
Secure shift guide with securing clamps
|
|
14. |
Attach catch hooks
• |
Tighten catch hooks 18 Nm
|
|
15. |
Install lower engine cover
Note: If present.
|
16. |
Check transmission fluid level and correct if necessary
|
