Crash Box, Remove and Install
Y 17 DT
Warning: Fuel
escapes – observe safety measures and national
legislation.
 Remove
| 1. |
Disengage fuel supply line from brackets (1).

| 2. |
Disconnect wiring harness plug (2) for fuel pre-heating at fuel
filter housing lid.
|
| 3. |
Lift fuel filter housing carefully upwards and out of crash
box.
Note: Set aside - fuel
system remains closed.

| 4. |
Detach add-on heater for fuel dosing pump (6) from
crash-box
| • |
Release fastening nut (7)
|
|
| 5. |
Unclip wiring harness clip (5) from crash box.
|
| 6. |
Release coolant hose from bracket (4) at crash box.
|
| 7. |
Release coolant compensation tank (3) from bracket
Note: Set to one
side
|
| 8. |
Detach fastening nut (1) for crash box and slacken fastening
nut (2)
Note: Do not remove
|
|
|
Install
| 10. |
Place crash box on stud bolt and attach with fastening nuts
Note: Tightening torque
25 Nm
|
| 11. |
Install coolant compensation tank in bracket
| • |
Clip coolant hose firmly into bracket on crash box
|
|
| 12. |
Clip wiring harness plug to crash box.

Attach add-on heater fuel pump to crash box
|
|
| 13. |
Install fuel filter housing in crash box
| • |
Connect wiring harness plug for fuel pre-heating at fuel filter
housing lid.

| • |
Attach fuel supply line to brackets
|
