Vacuum Hose, Remove and Install (Vehicles with V6 Engine)

Illustrations shows removed cowl panel.

  Remove

Pull vacuum hose (3) out of brake servo. Release union nut (1).

For vehicles with quick release fitting: Detach quick release fitting for vacuum line from intake manifold – release quick release fitting by firmly pressing catch.

Remove both vacuum connections (2) from return valve. Take vacuum hose out of clips (4).

  Disassemble

Cut through vacuum hose (1) at both connections of check valve, at connection for brake servo and intake manifold connection and remove.

  Assemble

Cut new vacuum hose (textile outer layer) to measured length and install with new hose clamps (1). Ensure that arrows on check valve point towards intake manifold.

  Install

Install vacuum connections (3) and vacuum hose (4). Insert vacuum hose in clips (5).

Attach union nut (2) to intake pipe – tightening torque 18 Nm / 13.5 lbf. ft.

  Inspect

Ensure that all connections are perfectly tight. Check function of brake servo – see operation "Brake Servo, Check Function".
