Remove centre console – see operation "Centre Console, Remove and Install" in group "C".

Remove rear air flow guide, if available:

Detach fastening nuts (1) and remove front support (2). Remove fastening bolt (3) and remove rear support (4). Remove rear air duct.

Disconnect wiring harness plug (3). Disconnect corresponding ground cable (arrow) from ground distribution.

Unclip wiring harness plug from selector lever housing and disconnect. Unlock spring contact (1 – Pin 2 in plug X31) with MKM-923-22 (2) and pull cable with spring contact from wiring harness plug.

Note:   In order to remove the selector lever pawl starter solenoid (4) the selector lever housing must be removed with selector lever – see operation "Selector Lever, Remove and Install or Replace".

Remove fastening bolts (1) from selector lever housing. Remove selector lever pawl starter solenoid.

  Install

Insert selector lever pawl starter solenoid in selector lever housing and pawl – make sure that actuating lever engages in pawl. Connect selector lever pawl starter solenoid to selector lever housing.

Install selector lever housing with selector lever – see operation "Selector Lever, Remove and Install or Replace".

Install selector lever pawl starter solenoid with wiring harness. Insert spring contact (Pin 2 in plug X31) in corresponding position in wiring harness plug. Connect wiring harness plug for selector lever pawl starter solenoid. Connect ground cable to ground distribution.
