Lever locking plate (2) off and detach selector linkage (3) at selector connecting lever (1).

Remove centre console – see operation "Centre Console, Remove and Install" in group "C".

Remove rear air flow guide, if available: Remove fastening nuts (4) and remove front support (5). Remove fastening bolt (6) and remove rear support (7). Remove rear air flow guide.

Disconnect wiring harness plug (2) at selector lever housing.

In vehicles with selector lever pawl: Remove selector lever pawl contact switch (1) and ignition key release contact switch – see operation "Selector Lever Pawl Contact Switch, Remove and Install" and "ignition key release contact switch Remove and Install".

Drill off 5 blind rivets and remove selector lever housing (4) from transmission tunnel.

  Clean

In vehicles without selector lever pawl: Remove sealant residues on selector lever housing and transmission tunnel and clean sealing surfaces.

  Remove

Clamp selector lever housing with protective jaws in vice.

In vehicles with selector lever pawl: Remove starter solenoid selector lever pawl (3) – see operation "Selector Lever Pawl Starter Solenoid, Remove and Install".

Remove fastening nut (2). Remove washer (3) with plastic washers (4, 6) and bushing (5). Pull selector lever shaft (9) from selector lever housing (10). Remove selector lever (1) and pawl (11 – if available). Remove plastic washer (8) and bushing (7) from selector lever shaft.

  Inspect

Check all components of selector lever assembly for damage and wear, and replace if necessary.

  Install

Push plastic washer onto selector lever shaft and insert bushings in selector lever housing. Insert pawl (if available) and selector lever in selector lever housing and push selector lever shaft in.

Connect fastening nut (1) for selector lever shaft with washer and plastic washer to selector lever shaft – tightening torque 28 Nm / 20.5 lbf. ft.

In vehicles with selector lever pawl: Install selector lever pawl starter solenoid – see operation "Selector Lever Pawl Starter Solenoid, Remove and Install". Insert new seal (2) in selector lever housing.

In vehicles without selector lever pawl: Apply sealing compound between selector lever housing and transmission tunnel.

Place selector lever housing (3) on transmission tunnel and fasten with 5 blind rivets.

In vehicles with selector lever pawl: Install selector lever pawl contact switch and ignition key release contact switch – see operation "Selector Lever Pawl Contact Switch, Remove and Install" and "Ignition Key Release Contact Switch, Remove and Install".

If available: Insert rear air flow guide and install front and rear support.

Install centre console – see operation "Centre Console, Remove and Install" in group "C".

Connect selector rod (3) to selector intermediate lever (1) and secure with retaining plate (2).
