Secondary Air Metal Pipe, Remove and Install (X 20
XEV)

 Remove
Pull back spring clamp (1) and detach air duct hose (2) from
secondary air non-return valve (3).
|

|
Remove fastening bolts (1) and remove bracket (2).
Remove heat shield fastening bolts.
Remove heat shield from exhaust manifold.
|
|
|
Remove crankcase vent hose from cylinder head cover.
Remove bolts (1) and remove secondary air metal pipe (2) from
exhaust manifold.
|
|
|
Removal of non-return valve: clamp secondary air metal pipe in
vice with protective jaws and remove non-return valve.
|
|
Install
To install non-return valve: Coat thread with screw locking
compound (red) and bolt to metal pipe – tightening torque 30
Nm / 22 lbf. ft.
Insert secondary air metal pipe with new sealing washers into
exhaust manifold – tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft. The
retaining bolts must be coated with assembly paste (white) prior to
assembly.
Attach crankcase vent hose to cylinder head cover.
Attach heat shield to exhaust manifold – tightening torque
8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.
Attach bracket to exhaust manifold and metal pipe –
tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.
Attach air duct hose to secondary air non-return valve and
fasten with spring clamp.
