Technical ABC

The "Technical ABC" serves as an appendix and supplement to the New Technical Features and is compiled to provide information for service employees. Its purpose is to describe terms and abbreviations in a brief format.

Whenever possible, references to the original documents are included in the New Technical Features or special publications. The aim is to make it easier for users to find information.

• In general, vehicle specific owner's manual, comply with instructions for child seat, comply with special publication "Seat Occupancy Detection", training video "Seat Occupancy Detection" and safety regulations for the restraint system .
• All child seats and carrycots (also rear-facing) can be placed on the rear seat.
• In some vehicles, child seats may also be placed on the front passenger seat (push front passenger seat as far back as possible) - but never facing towards the rear or in vehicles with a side airbag.
• There are a few exceptions for vehicles with seat occupancy detection) (see SOD) in conjunction with a baby's carrycot with Transponder or for vehicles without a passenger airbag. In this case it is absolutely essential to comply with the above-mentioned customer and service information and the service video VT 45!
