Transmission F13, F15, F17 with Odometer Signal Sensor The electronic speedometer and other electronic systems in the vehicle require an electrical odometer signal generated by the front axle wheel speed sensors and provided by the ABS control unit. In vehicles without ABS, this signal can be generated by the F13, F15 and F17 transmissions in future. The transmissions are then equipped with an odometer signal sensor (1). Instead of the previous gears for the speedometer drive, the transmission is not fitted with a pulse pick-up disc (2), which rotates in front of the odometer signal sensor and generates the odometer signal (29 pulses per revolution). In vehicles with ABS, the mounting bore hole for the odometer signal sensor is sealed with a dummy plug.
