Clutch, Transmission F17 Manual Transmission General The new F17 manual transmission replaces the previous F15 manual transmission in the Vectra-B. The F17 transmission is a synchronised 5-speed manual transmission and features the following improvements compared to the F15 transmission:
• Higher transferable torque (approx. 170 Nm/125 lbf. ft.)
• Modified synchronisation
• Shift housing with shift engagement
• Preparation for gate shifting
• Increased clutch disc diameter - to 205 mm
Transmission Identification There is no identification on the F17's transmission housing. The type of transmission installed can be recognised from the transmission number. As of MY '98, transmission identification will be introduced in the Aspern plant and will also be commenced in the Bochum plant at a later date.

Notice: In the Vectra-B, the odometer signal is transferred by the ABS wheel speed sensors. The pulse pick-up disc and the odometer signal sensor are therefore omitted from the transmission. The bore hole for the odometer signal sensor is sealed with a cap.
