F17 Manual Transmission  

General  

The new F17 manual transmission replaces the previous F15 manual transmission in the Vectra-B.  

The F17 transmission is a synchronised 5-speed manual transmission and features the following improvements compared to the F15 transmission:  

•  Higher transferable torque (approx. 170 Nm/125 lbf. ft.)  

•  Modified synchronisation  

•  Modified gears  

•  Minimal noise  

•  Shift housing with shift engagement  

•  Preparation for gate shifting  

•  Increased clutch disc diameter - to 205 mm  

Transmission Identification  

There is no identification on the F17's transmission housing. The type of transmission installed can be recognised from the transmission number. Notice: 

In the Vectra-B, the odometer signal is transferred by the ABS wheel speed sensors. The pulse pick-up disc and the odometer signal sensor are therefore omitted from the transmission. The bore hole for the odometer signal sensor is sealed with a cap.
