  • ◆ V.A.G 1390 Hand vacuum pump

Check conditions

  • ● No fault stored in fault memory

=> Repair group 01; Self-diagnosis; Interrogating fault memory

  • ● Carry out final control diagnosis

=> Repair group 01; Self-diagnosis; final control diagnosis

  • ● Vacuum pipes and hose connections free of leaks.
  • ● Vacuum pipes not blocked/kinked.

Test sequence

  • ‒ → Pull vacuum hose -1- off secondary air inlet valve -2- (N112).
  • ‒ Connect hand vacuum pump V.A.G 1390 to vacuum hose -1-.

Note:

Do not use compressed air during the following check!

  • ‒ → Detach pressure hose from secondary air pump motor and blow in lightly -arrow-.
         Combi-valve must be closed.
  • ‒ Operate hand vacuum pump.
         Combi-valve must open.

If the combi-valve does not open:

  • ‒ Replace the combi-valve

Check conditions

  • ● No fault stored in fault memory

=> Repair group 01; Fault memory; Interrogating and erasing fault memory of engine control unit

  • ● Carry out final control diagnosis

=> Repair group 01; Final control diagnosis; Performing final control diagnosis

  • ● Hose connections must seal properly.

Test sequence

Note:

Do not use compressed air during the following check!

  • ‒ Remove engine cover.
  • ‒ Detach the pressure hose =>Page 26-16 ; item 8 from the secondary air pump motor.

Note:

To release, press together the buttons on the hose coupling.

  • ‒ Blow with light pressure into pressure hose to combi-valve.
         Combi-valve must remain closed.
  • ‒ Blow with high pressure into pressure hose to combi-valve.
         Combi-valve must open.

If the combi-valve does not open, or is permanently open:

  • ‒ Renew combi-valve.
