Servicing power assisted steering
Checking function of pump for steering hydraulics V 119, Ecomatic
Attention! Before leaving the vehicle always

◆ Place gear lever in neutral!

◆ Fully apply handbrake!
Then it is not possible for the vehicle to drive away unintentionally. For faults on the power steering check whether the cause is the electric motor/electrics or the pump/hydraulics.

‒ Start engine and operate button for Ecomatic operation on wiper lever (warning lamp in combi-instrument lights up).

‒ By listening and/or touching, check whether the pump V 119 is operating.
When the pump V 119 does not operate
=> Ecomatic self-diagnosis
When the pump V 119 operates, but a fault is present, check delivery pressure.
