- Lubricate the lever and sliding surfaces for the brake shoes with a thin layer of heat resistant grease and then connect the cable to the lever.

- Push in the cable and position the lever behind the rear axle flange.

- Smear a thin layer of graphite grease onto the sliding surfaces of the brake shoes.

- Install the brake shoes and the lower retaining spring.

- Install the upper return spring and adjuster.
