- Install the brake drum and caliper. Use new mounting bolts.

- Make sure that the brake disc turns without contacting the brake pads.

- Clamp the brake pipe to the rear axle. Refit the guard plate, (on vehicles so equipped).

- Turn the adjuster piston with a screwdriver to expand the shoes until they nearly lock. Then slacken the adjuster by 4-5 notches. Check that the shoes

are released.

- Install the rubber grommet and sleeve, and place the end of the cable on the ratchet.

- Install the clamp that secures the cable to the floor section Reposition the floor mat and rear seat cushion.

- Screw in the nut until the end of the cable goes through the nut. Adjust the cable tension until the yoke (1) is square in relation to the lever (when

applied).

- Adjust the cable tension with screw (2) to obtain full braking effect between the 2-8 notches. Reconnect the ashtray light and reinstall the parking

brake console.

- Reinstall the wheel and lower the vehicle.
