Volvo 700 Series at a glance: 10 manuals, covering 1983 to 1992 models, with engines from 2.3 to 2.8 litres.
About the 700 Series
The 700 Series was Volvo's rear-wheel-drive executive range from 1982 to 1992, designed by Jan Wilsgaard. It began with the premium 760, followed two years later by the simpler 740 with the same body. The 780 was a Bertone-designed coupe. The 900 Series gradually replaced the range from 1990.
What these manuals cover
- 760 (1983–1989): the 2.8-litre V6, the 2.3-litre turbo four and the 2.4 turbo diesel.
- 740 (1985–1992): the 2.3-litre four, with or without a turbo, and the 16-valve DOHC B234F.
- 780 (1987): the 2.8-litre V6.
Tip: the 2.3-litre B230 fours are also used in the 240 and 940, so their manuals cover the same engine.
