UPGRADE OF VOLVO GUARD ALARM COMPONENTS

If a customer has operational problems with the Volvo Guard Alarm, especially with the remote transmitter, first check the week of manufacture on the
alarm control module located beneath the dashboard on the left side.

If that week of manufacture is W32O or earlier, follow the procedures outlined in this Service Bulletin.

If that week of manufacture is later than W320, follow the procedures in the Service Manual: Section 3 (39), TP 31782/1, Volvo Guard Anti-Theft
alarm, 200/700 1981-.

METHOD:

Preparations:

- Make a note of radio code.

- Disconnect battery ground lead.
- Remove left insulation panel.

LOCATING THE CONNECTOR

940, 960 model year 1992

Locate the 4-pin connector which is on the left of the central electronics module bracket.
