Shift Lever Housing: Service and Repair
Remove and Install Gear Selector Knob
Gear Selector Assembly (models to 92 inclusive) Repair/Replacement
Replacement of lock button
Remove lock button.
Grip left-hand side of button with pliers and pull straight upward.
Install new button.
Press button into position, ensuring that it is securely held by catches on push rod.
Removal/reinstallation of gear selector knob
Pull the gear shift lever knob and lock button directly upwards off the lever.
Note that considerable force is required to remove knob.
Reinstall gear selector knob and lock button.
