Installation of pinion seal
A new special tool has been developed to improve the installation of the final drive pinion seal. A new seal which encloses the spring more fully has also
been introduced as a replacement, P/N 943317-7, replacing the earlier type.
The new special tool is a drift, 999 5538-7. The tool is designed for use in combination with press tool 999 5156-8 (for M20 thread, up to 1991) or 999
5504-9 (for M24 thread, 1992 on), and can be used for all final drives.
