Before starting work on the heat exchanger
Note! When replacing a heat exchanger, always replace the O-rings in the pipes.

Removal
Work in the engine compartment

Clamp the heating hoses. Use lock grip pliers 115 8957 HOSE PLIERS See: Tools and Equipment/115 8957 Hose Pliers.
Work in the passenger compartment

Remove the soundproofing panel on the left and right-hand sides. See Dashboard See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard /

Remove left and right-hand side carpet mountings

Remove the RTI or amplifier bracket if applicable

Remove the knee bolster if applicable.
