Lubricate the edges of the new seal using automatic transmission fluid.
Install locating pin 999 5769 Pilot See: Tools and Equipment/999 5769 Pilot.
Install the seal on the locating pin. Use drift 999 5770 Drift See: Tools and Equipment/999 5770 Drift.
Tap in the seal until the drift is against the transmission.
Remove the locating pin.
Check the oil level according to Checking the oil level See: Service and Repair/Procedures/Checking the Oil Level
Install the drive shaft according to Installing drive shafts See: Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Service and Repair/Drive Shafts,

Place a container underneath the transmission.
Install the cap nut for extractor 999 5768 Puller See: Tools and Equipment/999 5768 Puller.
Lightly grease the locating pin on the extractor.
Use a ratchet with an extension and socket. Press the extractor in against the seal at the same time as the extractor is turned.
Tighten so that the threaded cone screws firmly into the seal.
