Constant Velocity Joint: Removal and Replacement

Special tools:

Note! See  Drive shafts, removing See: Service and Repair/Drive Shafts, Removing  for drive shaft removal. The method is the same for the left
and right drive shaft. 

Expose the outer constant velocity joint 

-

Remove the clamps from the boot.

-

Pull the boot off of the constant velocity joint.

-

Wipe off the grease from the constant velocity joint.

-

Fasten the drive shaft in a vise so that the recess for the lock ring points up.

Adapt a drift as described in  Adapting a drift See: Procedures/Adapting A Drift.

Remove the constant velocity joint from the shaft
