Removing the support ring from the gear selector 

Pull the support ring apart slightly. Pull it straight up.

Removing the panel and the boot 

Remove the panel and the boot.

Replacing the gear selector lever boot 

Remove the old boot from the panel. Install the new boot in the panel. Press it into place properly.
