Handle inner tailgate lower, replacing

information in the illustrations is always correct.

Removing the inner handle from the lower tailgate

Remove the lock mechanism. See Lock mechanism, tailgate, replacing See: Trunk / Liftgate Latch/Service and Repair.
Unhook the cable from the lock.
Remove the cable from the clip in the tailgate.
Remove the 3 screws.
Pull the opening handle and cables from the tailgate.

Remove:

-

the cover on the opening handle

-

the 2 screws.

Unhook the cables from the opening handle.
Release the catches.
Remove the cable from the bracket.

Installing the inner handle in the lower tailgate

Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications See: Specifications.

Install:

-

the cable from the bracket

-

the opening handle

-

the 2 M5 screws. Tighten

-

the cover

-

the opening handle and the cables in the tailgate

-

the 3 M8 screws. Tighten.

Press the cable into place in the clip.
