XC90 L5-2.5L Turbo VIN 59 B5254T2 (2004)
Position the bevel gear on a workbench. Support the gear using a wooden block.
Use extractor 999 7086 Puller See: Tools and Equipment/999 7086 Puller together with spacer ring 7086-1. Knock the seal towards the housing using
the extractor sleeve.
Remove the seal using the impact driver handle of the extractor.
Check thoroughly that no seal residue remains.
Draining the bevel gear oil
Position the bevel gear over a container. Remove the level plug. Allow the oil to run out through the bearing. Wipe away spilt oil from the sealing ring
seat on the bevel gear. Use a lint-free rag.
Installation
Installing the sealing ring
Install sleeve 7087-1 in the end of the shaft. Lubricate the lip of the new sealing ring. Use grease 116 1241-3 (80g). Position the seal on the sleeve.
