Note! Certain vehicles with 6 cylinder engines have a rear CV joint with 6 screws, in such cases use 999 7057 Counterhold See: Tools and
Equipment/999 7057 Counterhold. See below for replacement parts.
Replacement part propeller shafts only have 4 screw holes on the rear CV joint. The flange on the Active on Demand Coupling has 8 threaded holes to fit
propeller shafts with both 4 and 6 screws.
On flange with hole pattern for both 4 and 6 bolts, press loose the prop shaft from the AOC-coupling by threading in a bolt M8 20 mm long from the rear
through one of the threaded holes that are not used.
Removing the mounting for the center bearing for the propeller shaft
Remove:

the screws for the bearing for the propeller shaft in the center bearing member

the screws for the center bearing member. Let the member rest on the exhaust system.
Removing the propeller shaft
Press the propeller shaft joints together. Detach the front joint from the flange for the bevel gear and move it to the side.
Remove:
-
the screw from the rear joint and detach it from the flange
