WARNING:
WARNING:Fuel line spills and leakage are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injures or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the “Fuel Line Safety Procedure”. (See 01-14A-4 Fuel Line Safety Procedures.)

1. Install the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s).

  1. Install the A/C compressor with the pipes still connected.
    For additional information, refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor (412-03 Air Conditioning, Removal and Installation).
  1. Install the P/S oil pump with the oil hoses and pipes still connected.
    For additional information, refer to: Power Steering Pump - 2.5L Duratorq-TDCi (WL) Diesel (211-02 Power Steering, Removal and Installation).
  1. Install the transmission. For additional information, refer to:
    Transmission - Vehicles With: 5-Speed Manual Transmission (R15M) (308-03, Installation),
    Transmission - Vehicles With: 5-Speed Manual Transmission (S15M) (308-03 Manual Transmission/Transaxle, Installation),
    Transmission - Vehicles With: 5-Speed Manual Transmission (S15MX) (308-03 Manual Transmission/Transaxle, Installation).
  1. Install the front pipe.
    For additional information, refer to: Exhaust Downpipe (309-00 Exhaust System, Removal and Installation).
  1. Install the radiator.
    For additional information, refer to: Radiator (303-03 Engine Cooling, Removal and Installation).
  1. Install the battery.
    For additional information, refer to: Battery (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, Removal and Installation).
  1. Install the air intake pipe.
    For additional information, refer to: Intake Air System Components (303-12 Intake Air Distribution and Filtering, Removal and Installation).
  1. Adjust the drive belt.
    For additional information, refer to: Accessory Drive Belt Adjustment (303-05 Accessory Drive, General Procedures).
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Continuously cranking the engine for over 30 s can damage the battery and the starter.
    Bleed air in the fuel line.
    • Continue cranking the engine for 30 s and stop for 5—10 s until the engine starts.
  1. Start the engine.
    1. Inspect the engine oil, engine coolant, and fuel leakage.
    1. Inspect the idle speed.
  1. Perform a road test.

Installation Details

Item 1 : Engine

  1. Install the SST to the cylinder head by using bolt (99784 1020 or M10X1.25, 8T, length 20mm {0.79 in}) as shown.
    • Tightening torque 43.1—60.8 Nm {4.40—6.10 kgf·m, 31.8—44.8 ft·lbf}.

  1. Suspend the engine using the SST.
