Operation 4420B16 · Rear suspension wishbones

Removal

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

Proceed with the removal See Op. 4450B11 Rear wheel (one) - r r .

1 Undo bolt 1a securing rear suspension longitudinal tie rod 1b to the steering knuckle.

2 Undo the nut 2a and withdraw bolt 2b as far as necessary to disconnect front wishbone 2c from the damper.

1 Undo the nut of the bolt securing the rear suspension front wishbone to the rear suspension beam.

2 Undo the bolts securing the rear suspension crossmember to the body and lower as necessary.

Withdraw the screw of the bolt securing the rear suspension front wishbone to the beam.

3 Remove the rear suspension front wishbone.

Refitting

Refit the rear suspension front wishbone and secure to the beam by doing up the screw of the retaining bolt.

1 Tighten the bolts securing the rear suspension crossmember to the bodyshell to the recommended torque.

Screw M10 – Rear cross-beam 1: (Bodyshell side) 5.8 ÷ 7.2 daNm

2 Tighten the bolt securing the rear suspension front wishbone to the rear suspension beam to the specified torque.

Bolt M12 – Rear suspension front wishbones 2: (Rear suspension crossmember side) 6.8 ÷ 8.3 daNm

1 Connect front wishbone 1a to the damper and secure by tightening bolt 1b to the specified torque.

Bolt M12 – Rear suspension front wishbones 1b: (Rear wheel hub stub axle side.) 11.1 ÷ 13.5 daNm

2 Tighten bolt 2a securing rear suspension longitudinal tie rod 2b to the steering knuckle to the specified torque.

Bolt M12 – Rear anchorage rod 2a: (Rear wheel hub stub axle side.) 11.1 ÷ 13.5 daNm

Proceed with the refitting See Op. 4450B11 Rear wheel (one) - r r .

Remove the car from the ramp.

Proceed with the refitting See Op. 4450A40 Rear wheel geometry - check using optical equipment .
