X20 Brake fluid leaks

A brake fluid leak is seen.

Step	Test procedure	Result	Action
0	PRELIMINARY CHECKS Check whether the fault is accompanied by decreased braking efficiency Visually inspect the brake fluid level in the reservoir Op. 3330A10	OK	Move onto step 1
		Decreased braking efficiency	Move onto step (see F01)
		Level too low	Restore the correct level and carry out a road test. If the defect persists, Move onto step 1
1	RESERVOIR LEAKAGE TEST Visually check that there are no leaks from the reservoir and the pipes	OK	Move onto step 2
		Leaks from the pipes in the area of the reservoir	Tighten the pipes (see Assembly 3330C) End of diagnosis
		Leaks from the reservoir	Replace the reservoir Op. 3330C30 End of diagnosis
2	PUMP LEAKAGE TEST Visually check that there are no leaks of fluid from the brake pump and connectors	OK	Move onto step 3
		Leaks from the connectors in the area of the pump / ABS control unit	Tighten the connectors or replace the damaged parts (see Assembly 3340B) End of diagnosis
		Leaks from the pump	Replace the brake servo assembly Op. 3330D10 End of diagnosis
3	CHECK HOSES Visually inspect that there are no leaks from the hoses	OK	Move onto step 4
3		Leaks from the connectors or hoses deteriorated	Tighten the connectors or replace the hoses involved (see Assembly 3340B) End of diagnosis
4	RIGID PIPES CHECK Visually inspect that there are no leaks from the underbody rigid pipes	OK	Move onto step 5
4		Leaks from the connectors or rigid pipes damaged	Tighten the connectors or replace the rigid pipes (see Assembly 3340B) End of diagnosis
5	CHECK CORRECT OPERATION Check that the fault is no longer present	OK	End of diagnosis
5		Fault persists	Incorrect selection of diagnostic procedure
