| The electro-hydraulic power steering is protected by a safety cut-out which prevents it from being actuated immediately after a malfunction, a failure or a crash. |
| This safety cut-out can be overridden by switching off the ignition and restarting the engine. It may be necessary to wait about 15 minutes for the motor/pump unit to cool down if overheating has occurred. |
| If, after waiting for this period, the safety cut-out cannot be cancelled by starting the engine, there is a fault in the vehicle's electrical system or the motor/pump unit is defective. In this case carry out a self-diagnosis and if necessary renew the motor/pump unit. |
