REMOVING-REFITTING ALTERNATOR - COOLANT PUMP DRIVE BELT

  1. Remove the right front wheel arch lining in order to gain access to the auxiliary component drive belt.

Check the condition and efficiency of the auxiliary component drive belt. In particular, check for cracks, tears, surface wear (smooth or shiny in appearance) and dry or hard parts with consequent loss of grip. Replace belt if even one of the above defects is present.

Prevent the belt coming into contact with oil or solvents which could affect the elasticity of the rubber with consequent loss in grip.

  1. Loosen lower alternator fastening bolt.

Refitting

  1. Fit the new bolt and turn the tensioning device by means of the hexagonal hole on the device itself. Then tighten screw (1).
