Operation 1088D47 · COOLANT PIPES AND HOSES

Removing

Place the car on a ramp.

Raise the lift.

- 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r

Position a suitable container for recovering the coolant fluid.

1. Disconnect the collars and recover the coolant in a suitable container.

2. Remove the outlet and inlet pipes from the heat exchanger.

Removing

Position the vehicle on the ramp.

Proceed with the removal - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

1. Loosen the bands and disconnect the engine oil heat exchanger coolant supply and return hoses, heat exchanger side.

Recover the engine coolant in a suitable container.

Refitting

Check sleeve condition.

Connect the sleeves to their seats on the heat exchanger and to the relevant rigid pipes.

Ensure that the grooves on the hose fit over the ridges on the rigid pipe sections on the radiator and thermostat.

Secure the hose using new collars.

- 0010T21 coolant check density and top up if necessary

1. Loosen the band and disconnect the coolant supply hose to the engine oil heat exchanger, water pump rigid inlet pipe side and remove it after having released it from the fastenings.

1. Loosen the band and disconnect the coolant return hose from the engine oil heat exchanger, rigid pipe side and remove it after having released it from the fastenings.

Refitting

Fit the engine oil heat exchanger coolant supply and return hoses and fix them using the bands.

Connect the coolant return hose from the engine oil heat exchanger, rigid pipe side and tighten the band.

Connect the coolant supply hose to the engine oil heat exchanger, water pump rigid inlet pipe side and tighten the band.

Connect the coolant supply and return hoses to the engine oil heat exchanger, heat exchanger side and tighten the bands.

Proceed with the refitting - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r.

Refill the engine cooling system with coolant - 0010T20 coolant change.

Remove the car from the ramp.
