Engine oil pump - r+r with power unit removed

Operation 1084B14 · ENGINE OIL LUBRICATION CIRCUIT

Removing

- 1004D10 power unit (manual gearbox), removed, remove and re-build

- 1004D40 engine - position on stand and remove

- 1020A24 crank case oil sump - r + r clean seals for sealant application with engine removed

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and the nut (1b) and remove the water pump (1c).

Removing

- 1004D10 power unit (manual gearbox), removed, remove and re-build

- 1004D40 engine - position on stand and remove

- 1020A24 crank case oil sump - r + r clean seals for sealant application with engine removed

1. Undo the retaining bolts.

2. Remove the engine oil pump (2a) complete with draught element (2b).

3. Recover the oil pump gasket.

1. Fit the crankshaft gear lock (1a) as shown.

Work with flywheel retainer 1860846000 fitted.

2. Unscrew the bolt securing the crankshaft gear and remove.

Refitting

Replace the oil pump gasket.

Position the oil pump fitting the drive shaft in its housing.

Tighten the bolts fixing the oil pump to the cylinder block/crankcase to torque.

- 1004D10 power unit (manual gearbox), removed, remove and re-build

1. Undo bolts (1a) and remove engine block lower cover (1b) with built-in oil pump, complete with crankshaft lower oil seal(1c), intake duct (1d) and oil filter (1e).

2. Remove engine block lower seal

Refitting

Position a new gasket on the oil pump.

Fit the crankcase front cover with built in oil pump complete intake housing and oil filter and secure by tightening bolts to the recomended torque.

1. Fit a new crankshaft front cover oil seal (1a) using the tool (1b).

1. Fit the gear on the crankshaft.

2. Fit the crankshaft locking tool.

3. Secure the crankshaft gear by tightening the bolt to the specified torque.

Apply the recommended sealent to the outside edge of the water pump in one continuous line.

Ensure there is a good join between both ends.

Fit the water pump and fix it tightening the nuts and bolts to the recommended torque.
