CAUTION : The hydraulic tensioner (42) is fitted with a non-return device. If the piston of the tensioner (42) comes out of its housing during refitting (at "m") : Replace the hydraulic tensioner (42).

Refit the hydraulic tensioner (42); Tightening to 5 ± 0,5 daN.m.
Check the operation of the hydraulic tensioner (42) :

• Compress the piston "m" of the hydraulic tensioner (42) by pressing on the chain pad (32) ( as "n"); By means of a screwdriver
• Check that the piston "m" of the hydraulic tensioner (42) tensions the timing chain (37)

N.B. : Pass the screwdriver through the opening in the upper timing cover.

Tighten the bolts (33), (36), (26) to 11 ± 1,1 daN.m.
Remove the tools [10], [11], [12].
Turn the crankshaft clockwise through 4 revolutions.
Refit the tools [11], [12].

CAUTION : Check that the camshafts and crankshaft are correctly pegged : If pegging is not possible, restart the operation.

Refit :

• The oil pump module and vacuum pump spider
• The oil pump module, vacuum pump and its new seal
• The oil pump module and vacuum pump fixing bolts; Tighten to 2,5 ± 0,3 daN.m
