NOISY SUNROOF

The sun roof is noisy during opening/closing and/or whilst driving

0	PRELIMINARY CHECK	All OK	Problems met	Operation
		Results of the tests
	Check that the noise only occurs during the opening/closing of the roof and is not there whilst driving with the roof closed.	Continue to Step 2	The noise is also present whilst driving with the roof closed.	Continue to Step 1
1	PROFILE CHECK	All OK	Problems met	Operation
	Check that the profile between the front moving glass and the rear fixed glass is correct	Continue to Step 2	Profile not correct	Restore correct coupling
2	SLIDES CHECK	All OK	Problems met	Operation
	Check the condition of the slide assembly; in particular, make sure that: there are no obstacles or impediments to the movement of the slides the splining on the slides are properly greased the matching between the splining and the pins for the hinged opening is correct	Continue to Step 3	Presence of impediments/obstacles	Restore correct operation
			Splining not greased	Grease the splining
			Slide components matching faulty	Restore correct operation, if necessary, replace the damaged slide
3	MOTOR TIGHTENING CHECK	All OK	Problems met	Operation
	Check that the bolts fixing the motor are correctly tightened using a torque wrench	Continue to Step 4	Tightening not correct/incomplete	Tighten the bolts to the correct torque
4	MOVEMENT CONTROL CONDITION CHECK	All OK	Problems met	Operation
	Check the condition of the control racks and the motor ring gear	Continue to Step 5	Rack faulty	Restore correct operation, if necessary replace the rack Op. 7030B45
		Continue to Step 5	Motor ring gear faulty	Restore correct operation, if necessary replace the motor Op. 7030B70
5	Continue as instructed by the tester	All OK	Problems met	Operation
	Check that the fault is no longer present.	End of diagnosis	Fault persists	Replace the sun roof electric motor Op. 7030B70
