Introduction - FRONT SUSPENSION

Front suspension: independent, McPherson type.

The front suspension crossmember has been stiffened with box sections at the bodyshell attachments and features improved passenger compartment noise filtration.

The cast iron track control arms, have new bushes fitted at the rear of the vertical axle to improve the absorption of vibrations and road holding round bends.

Side load type coil spring to reduce tangential forces on the shock absorber stem with a consequent improvement in the absorption of small irregularities in the road surface.

Double-acting telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers with a hydraulic stop to damp out vertical oscillations without transmitting and generating noise and vibration;

Struts reinforced to accommodate the increased link size.

New upper shock absorber mounting.

New design dome blocks

Bigger diameter stabiliser bar to limit vehicle roll on corners.

Axial bearing.

Cap secured to the bodyshell turret.

Front suspension with anti-roll bar.

Body attachment stiffness has been increased

The stiffer upper attachment dome reduces the level of noise entering the body to improve comfort levels.
