PASSENGER AIR BAG DISABLED WARNING LIGHT

The passenger air bag disabled warning light comes on upon start-up and stays lit for longer than 4 seconds. (carry out the initial control unit test)

If the manual switch is turned to OFF, the warning light should stay on

Connect the diagnostic equipment (Examiner or other instruments) to the diagnostic socket

check

  • there are no faults in the air bag control unit
  • the plausibility of all the parameters.

2CHECK PASSENGER'S AIR BAG DISABLEMENT SWITCHAll OKProblems metOperation

Check the passenger air bag manual cut-out switch is working properly:

  • when the device is switched to ON, the control unit should show a resistance of 100 Ohm;
  • when the device is switched to OFF, the control unit should show a resistance of 400 Ohm.

Check the condition of the passenger air bag disablement warning light inside the instrument see DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION: 5560 INSTRUMENT PANEL

The warning lights consist of LEDs built into the electronic circuit, and so CANNOT be replaced.
