TAILGATE ADJUSTMENTS

Adjusting tailgate position

  • Adjust the position of the tailgate, moving the hinge i the adjustment slot, as appropriate, in the directions shown by the arrows:
  • carefully adjust the position of the buffers on the lower edge of the tailgate, tightening or loosening them to vary the height of the buffer (see inset);

If the buffers are not correctly adjusted this results in either forcing the tailgate structure or a clearance for the closing mechanism.

NOTE The diagram shows the roof panel (1), the tailgate (2), the hinge (3) and the block (4) for fixing the hinge to the roof panel.

Adjusting position of tailgate lock striker

NOTE The arrows show the possible movements for adjusting the striker.

Adjusting tailgate opening rod

  • undo the fixing bolts and separate the striker from the bodyshell (upper inset);
  • working in the area shown, adjust the position of the tailgate opening rod (lower inset).
