ELECTRIC LOCK

Description

The door locking-unlocking operation is controlled by an electronic control unit that manages the simultaneous activation of the door locking motors through:

  • the key
  • the door interior handles
  • the remote control

The control unit also checks the actual closed condition of the doors through signals that arrive from the switches on the locks.

In this way the lock control is only activated with the doors well closed and the locks released, on the other hand the unlocking can only take place when the doors are locked.

The control unit also operates a series of safety checks:

  • check after every activation, whether the lock position is different to that required by the action performed (for example if one of the doors is not properly closed) in this case it provokes a "repulsion", i.e. the opposite movement takes place to "re-align" all the ,locks.
  • if the control unit detects several consecutive and complete lock/unlock movements, it intervenes, limiting the movement and inhibiting the system, which remains in the unlock position for approximately one minute.

Furthermore, the control unit cuts off the supply to the lock motors after a few seconds from the moment the command has been carried out. The purpose of this is to avoid keeping the motors supplied should the remote controls on the control unit remain locked.

If the battery voltage drops below 9 volts during the lock/unlock operation, the system cuts off the activation and no command is performed.

For further information concerning the system connections see DIAGRAMS E 3040.
