Remove the camshafts. For additional information, refer to Camshafts in this section. - Remove the tappets and keep them in order .

WARNING:Always wear protective goggles when working with compressed air. Failure to do so can result in injury. Install all the spark plugs except that for number one cylinder, and install the special tool. | | -
CAUTION:Use compressed air at a pressure of seven to ten bar. Attach the special tool and apply compressed air to the cylinder. - Compress the valve springs.
- Remove the valve collets.
- Remove the valve spring retainers and the valve springs.

Remove the valve stem seals. - Insert Special Tool -.
- Turn the special tool clockwise and pull it out.
| Installation | -
Install the valve stem seals. - Cover the groove in the valve stems with the valve stem seal fitting sleeve.
- Slide the valve stem seal onto the valve stem and remove the fitting sleeve.

NOTE:Check that the collets are seated correctly. Install the valve springs. - Insert the valve springs and valve spring retainers.
- Compress the valve springs.
- Insert the collets.

Detach Special Tool 303-363 and screw in the spark plug. | | -
Repeat steps to 4 (Remove) and to (Install) for all the other cylinders. | | -
CAUTION:The spark plugs must be removed to adjust the valve timing. Remove all the spark plugs. | | -
