Gauge TR Sensor Alignment

Removal

  1. Disconnect the batterie ground cable.

  1. Position the gearshift lever in NEUTRAL.
  1. Remove the battery tray. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.

  1. Remove the transmission range (TR) sensor.
    1. Disconnect the TR electrical connector.
    1. Remove the bolts.
    1. Remove the TR sensor.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure the transaxle is in the NEUTRAL position.
    Position the transmission range (TR) sensor and loosely install the bolts.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:As necessary, move the manual control lever to N position for TR sensor adjustment.
    Rotate the manual valve detent lever assembly to the Neutral position.
    1. Low 1
    1. Low 2
    1. Drive
    1. Neutral
    1. Reverse
    1. Park

  1. Install the TR sensor.
    1. Using the special tool, align the TR sensor.
    1. Tighten the bolts and remove the special tool.
    1. Connect the electrical connector.
  1. Install the battery tray. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. Inform the customer that the self-learn process of the PCM (EEC V module) will not be completed until a distance auf 160 km has been driven.
    Connect the battery ground cable.
  1. Check the proper operation with parking brake control engaged. The engine should start only in PARK or NEUTRAL. Reversing lamps should active only in REVERSE position.
