Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  1. Raise the vehicle and drain the coolant.For additional information, refer to Section  303-03 Engine Cooling.

  1. Disconnect the two hoses from the thermostat housing.
  1. Remove the alternator. For additional information, refer to Section  414-02 Generator and Regulator.

  1. Remove the thermostat housing (four bolts).

  1. Remove the thermostat.

Installation
  1. Refit the thermostat.
    • Make sure that the rubber seal is located correctly.
  1. Refill the cooling system and check for leaks. For additional information, refer to Section  303-03 Engine Cooling.
