6. Remove snap ring, Fig. 2, using caution not to damage bearing.
7. Remove tripod joint from shaft with a bar and hammer.
8. Wrap splines of shaft with tape to prevent damaging boot, then remove boot.
9. Pry up locking clip of band with a screwdriver, then remove band.
10. Remove dynamic damper, if necessary.
11. Remove wheel side boot if necessary.
ASSEMBLE
1. Install dynamic damper and boot. Ensure boot band is installed in direction opposite of the forward revolving direction of the driveshaft.
2. Install outer boot, then align marks and install tripod joint with a bar and hammer.
3. Install snap ring.
4. Apply 4.23 ounces of CV joint grease to outer joint and 5.29 ounces to inner joint.
5. Install boots. Ensure boots are not dented or twisted. Carefully lift up small end of boots to release any trapped air.
6. Measure length of each driveshaft. Correct length is 35.9 inches for right driveshaft and 25.5 inches for left driveshaft.
7. Secure boot bands by bending locking clips.
