STEERING COLUMN LOCK

Service repair no - 57.40.31

Remove

WARNING: SRS procedures must be followed and all precautions observed. See RESTRAINT SYSTEMS, Precautions.

  1. Remove steering column nacelle. See this section.
Steering column lock – Remove steering column nacelle. See this section.
  1. Disconnect 2 multiplugs from indicator/headlamp switch.
Steering column lock – Disconnect 2 multiplugs from indicator/headlamp switch.
  1. Disconnect multiplug from windscreen washer and wiper switch.
  2. Disconnect multiplug from ignition/starter switch.
Steering column lock – Disconnect multiplug from ignition/starter switch.
  1. Disconnect 2 multiplugs from rotary coupler.
  2. Release carpet from around steering column.
Steering column lock – Release carpet from around steering column.
  1. Remove bolt securing steering column to steering rack.
